Colorful dreams about university & the reality 

NOTE: In this article i will share my personal experience with you which is true for many other students too like my friends.When i use the word "we" by this i mean "me and my friends" and by using word "you" mean all of the viewers(readers) of this blog.

              Its every student's dream to get into a top ranking university, go abroad or at least get admission in top university in their locality ,so that they can have a chance of better career and build their future.Many students have colorful dreams about university life,me and my friends had the same dreams and the only hurdle we thought at that was the entry test .So just pass that test and everything after that will be fine and university is going to be a fun life, tension free, no more stress of heavy books, homework and quizzes like we had in high school.So I use to think about the entry test as the only major hurdle left and had colorful dreams about university life that there will be more fun and less stress about books."Why we had all those dreams?" let me answer your question; there were two big reasons for that and following are those reasons;

1. Our parents or elders always used to tell us to study hard for school or college examinations/quizzes/homework, work really hard for the university entry test and after that the worst thing they would say was that "Once you get into university there wont be much rules or stress from our side and university is not going to be a big deal".
2. The other point is that most of us didn't had their elder brother/sister or any friend in university so that we could know better about the university life.All we had seen were university students going to their institutes with only one or two books etc in their hand and we used to carry those heavy bags with lots of books, copies and other stuff in it.

It kind of made up our minds that university life is going to be a stress free life.

Reality: "after getting admission in the university"...

So i worked hard for the entry test, passed it and thought its going to be a start of a new life and indeed it was a start of a new life.

My first day at university was fine, not much special.I went to the notice board to note down the time table of my classes and went into my class because it was the time of my first class at the university which was calculus and the teacher name is Noor-Badshah.After introduction the first thing that said was;

                    "I know all of you have colorful dreams about university life that its going to be just                      fun and no rules but this is not the reality and you all will see that its much                                  different than what you thought."   

He was absolutely right, it was not like what we thought.As I have mentioned those two reasons for our colorful dreams above, that was never the case but instead;

You would need a whole library :(

1. Our parents set new goals for us with new rules to get good grades.
2. The thing that we didn't know before getting into university was that those students we used to see with a single book in their hand, had lots of heavy books at their homes, with lots of new stuff. 

Now my 3rd semester in university will start after summer vacations and feel really good *when exams are over* and enjoying the vacations even though the weather is really hot.

My advice to all students with colorful dreams:

• Enjoy your school life, its the best part of your life and stop worrying about universities etc just focus on your own studies and fun.
• University life is not that bad too...In this article I am not generalizing the whole university life, i just wanted to share my experience with you.
